Inverter Or Monitoring Error
Last updated
An inverter claim usually starts with your warranty. Many makers cover the part but not the labor, and some want a certified installer to diagnose first.
String inverters often come with about 10 to 12 years of coverage. Microinverters and power optimizers often carry 25 years. Communications equipment is typically covered for less (EnergySage on inverter warranties).
Most manufacturers do not pay for repair or replacement labor, and many do not cover shipping. Your installer's own warranty usually handles labor. Damage from extreme weather and most wiring are usually not covered by the maker.
The usual claim steps are to check what your warranty covers and who must file, follow the maker's return process, and expect a possible shipping cost. If a model is discontinued, the maker usually offers a comparable replacement.
Keep your serial numbers, your install date, and photos of the error handy before you call anyone.
